About
There is a lot of pressure in today’s world to feel good, to handle our troubles all on our own. We are led to believe that the sign of a healthy life is the absence of struggle, that we are weak if we reach out for help. But it is rare, if even possible, to find a person who does not struggle, at least a little. Sometimes, our personal struggles can become overwhelming, leading to suffering. If struggle is a part of life, then I believe we must also contain the potential to struggle well. To struggle takes strength and courage, and if you are reading this, you have already made your first step towards discovering your potential.
With 7 years of experience in the mental health field and 5 years professional counseling experience, the greatest strength I have to offer is that of genuine connection, and a safe space to realize your potential to struggle well. A place to discover new and creative ways to respond to suffering and struggles without giving up what you value most in life.
I am at home working with teenagers (with whom I have had over 10 years of experience in various professional roles), as well as adults of all ages. I am well attuned to the unique struggles of my specific geographic location, being born and raised in Haywood County, NC. It would be a great privilege to join you on your path to learning how to struggle well.
